Family Session with Nicole and Abby

Toddlers are notorious for being difficult to photograph. They simply don't have a lot of interest in or patience for smiling for the camera or staying in one place. What they are interested in, however, is exploring the world around them, whether it's picking up leaves and rocks off the ground, jumping off chairs, or just running around. What that means is that, with some patience and skill, it is a lot easier to capture exciting action shots of a toddler than classic portraits.

With this intro, I present to you the family photos of Nicole and Abby. During our photo session at the Stanford Shopping Center, Abby ran around and explored, just as she was supposed to, and I snapped away. Nicole, pregnant with her second daughter, did not skip a beat and was there interacting with Abby to make for truly dynamic shots. Below are some of my favorites from that session:
