Hojoon and Yejin are a such a sweet couple, so perfect for one another. It was a pleasure working with them. The camera liked them too, as you shall see! :-)
We started out at the Holiday Inn on Van Ness Avenue, where the couple rented a suite for the bridal party to do their preparations. There was a gorgeous view of the bay from the suite!

Left to my own devices, as we were waiting for Yejin to return from the salon where she was getting her hair and make-up done, I had a lot of time to play around with the gown, the shoes and the flowers.

The bridesmaids were staying busy as well. For the record, I don't think they appreciated my hijacking their shoes for the shot above, but they were good sports about it. :-)

In the meantime, Hojoon was putting the final touches on his own hair. Seems a little unfair that girls get all the help with their hair and make-up on their wedding day and the boys have to rely on their God-given good looks alone and maybe a tad bit of hair gel. Fortunately, Hojoon had plenty of the former and I suspect a good amount of the latter as well. ;-)

His cousin and best-man helped Hojoon attach his boutonnière. Notice the teal vest that the tuxedo rental place gave him by mistake instead of the beige worn by the other groomsmen. I think, given the circumstances, he pulls it off quite nicely!

Yejin never made it to the suite--she was running behind schedule and we went to pick her up at the salon. There was some love in the limo on the way there.

Finally, we arrived at the Maiden Lane Salon to pick up the bride.

Of course, all that preparation time paid off. Yejin looked so beautiful!

Since we were running a little low on time, we did some bridal shots right outside the salon in a cute little alleyway among art-work. It was very San Francisco!

Back to the limo. And off we went to the Legion of Honor. Of course, I couldn't resist a few shots in the limo.

The fountain just outside the Legion of Honor seems to have an irresistible pull for bridesmaids. It is not the first time I've seen bridesmaids taking a swim in it, though I confess this time I suggested it. ;-)

And it's back to the limo again as we drive to the ceremony.

As the guests were arriving, the bride went to a back room where the guests would go to greet her. The groom stayed at the church entrance, welcoming the guests there.

The ceremony began with the mothers of the bride and the groom lighting the candles.

Apparently the priest was a funny guy. The guests and the wedding party broke out laughing more than once during the ceremony. I only wish I knew what he was saying. (He was speaking Korean--not my strong-suit.)

If it looks like she's struggling with the ring, it is only because they've mixed up the rings. She is wearing his. Hers is a bit of a tight fit on him.

And then the ceremony came to an end.

A photo session with family and friends followed.

In the meantime, guests who weren't in the immediate friends and family group, started helping themselves to some delicious food. Just looking at these photos makes my palate water.

When the bride and groom rejoined the reception, the best man and the maid of honor made their toasts.

It really was a good, funny toast. Hojoon isn't just being polite. (I was excited--the toast was in English, so I could understand it!)

I know Hojoon and Yejin cut the cake. But I am not sure if they had any... It was a busy day for them!

We then took a little ride in Hojoon's awesome convertible orange Mustang! They had mentioned they wanted photos with the car, but we didn't get around to it until now.

When we returned to the church, it was time for the Korean ritual part of the ceremony. Most of the guests had already left and it was just the closest family remaining.
Hojoon and Yejin shed their Western wedding attire for traditional Korean garments.

The ceremony involves honoring the parents of the groom, traditionally, and of the bride, too, in this case. :-)
