It was my great pleasure to photograph the wedding of Sophia and James a few weeks ago. Second-shooting with me was the very talented Sasha Yevelev of
Sasha Photography.
Sophia and I started out bright and early at the Salon Rache, where she had her hair and make-up done by Karen Miller. In no time at all, it seems, we were out of there, Sophia looking radiant!

I loved the cute accents at the salon.

5.
For the final preparations, we went to Sophia's parents' house, where her dress, shoes and jewelry were all waiting for her.

7.
It's not just the bride who needs to have her hair done for the wedding. More photos of this cute flower girl later.
8.
Sophia's mom and sister helped her to put on her jewelry.
9.
And here she comes, the beautiful bride.
10.
We reconvened at the Church of Our Lady of Peace, a conservative Catholic church in Santa Clara.
For brides who are considering this church, a note of warning--they have quite onerous restrictions on photographer movement during the ceremony, so if you would like every moment of your ceremony captured from every angle, you might want to look elsewhere.
With that aside, however, the service was beautiful and touching.

We did a short session outside the church hiding in the small patch of shade behind the statue of Our Lady.

Back to the limo and off to Pruneyard Plaza Hotel.

The guests having cocktails in the lobby.

The shoes were so cool, I couldn't resist.

25.
As promised, a few more photos with the beautiful flower girl.
26.
After the cocktails, everyone moved upstairs into the reception hall.
Sophia and James ordered a custom-made guest book with their engagement photos, which was a huge success with the guests and which will be a wonderful memory for them to treasure. Photo guest books are becoming more popular now, as brides are looking for creative uses for their engagement photos.

The father-daughter dance.

The toasts got very emotional.
31.
And the dancing got pretty heated!

A beautiful vegan cake.
33.
And there goes the bouquet, flying across the room. The bride's sister caught it, which I thought was kind of cool.
34.
After the reception, we had a little more bridal session fun right there at the hotel.

And finally, some photo awesomeness by
Sasha--these are just a few of my favorites from the wedding. Thank you for your hard work and vision!
Congratulations, James and Sophia! All my best, warmest wishes go out to you!
Until next time!
